Urban Solar Program

Since its inception, WDC Solar, Inc. has focused on developing community and faith based solar initiatives to inform, educate and employ residents in low-income areas. As part of WDC Solar’s overall corporate social responsibility program, the company protects and invests time and resources in urban communities. Our Urban Solar Program (USP) has three primary fuctions (i) provide community workshops that are designed to educate the community as to the advantages of installing a solar PV system (ii) provide hands-on job training, to low-income residents, giving many them a legitimate opportunity for future employment in the burgeoning Green industry and (iii) Green jobs installing solar PV systems. The USP also will give many underserved families in urban communities immediate financial relief from skyrocketing energy bills, reduce, dependence on foreign oil, and improve our environment by reducing Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.
